I'm an English tutor with a BA from Boston University and 15 years of experience helping students to reach their potential and excel on their standardized tests.
I can help students on both college entrance exams like the SAT and ACT and private school tests like the SSAT and ISEE. After my students attain their desired scores, I can also help with application essays and the rest of the admissions process. In addition to test prep, I also help students with general English and AP English classes, including discussing literature and crafting essays.
I teach from the test, using past tests for practice and to discover weaknesses and areas of opportunity. We review basic strategies first and dive into more complex concepts as they arise. I encourage students to ask questions about any problem or concept that they are unsure of so that even if they got something right, they will be more confident the next time.
Whatever a student's needs, we can work together to find the right program and scheduling. Rate is negotiable and dependent on subject and hours per week. I am currently mainly offering virtual sessions, although some in-person may be doable.
