Vintage solid oak chair for an office or library typically, sometimes called a schoolhouse chair. Although not marked, was possibly manufactured by W.H. Gunlocke Chair Co. A chair of this type was often used in institutions like colleges and libraries and feature a sturdy build with a natural wood finish. I believe these type chairs are now considered collectibles.
The design style is mission or schoolhouse with a vintage aesthetic. It has a vertical back for support and a contoured or "saddle" seat for ergonomic comfort and a solid square silhouette with a wide frame for durability.
The chair is in excellent, solid condition but the finish needs refinishing to bring it back to its natural beauty. As they say..."They just don't make them like this anymore".
