  • Ability to write great content that people want to read
  • Curiosity and a desire to share new learnings with a diverse audience
  • Commitment to both the big picture and the details in your writing
  • Motivation and drive to work independently
  • Eagerness for constructive feedback
  • Degree, preferably in English, Creative Writing, or another writing-intensive field
  • You are fun to work with and don’t take yourself too seriously. We are a quirky bunch!

To apply, please reply to this post with a brief introductory email with the subject line “Tech Writer” In your cover letter, tell us why you think you are the best person for this position. Please also let us know what devices you can use when writing and testing articles (phones, computers, tablets, gaming consoles, etc.). Your writing sample should showcase work that you’re proud of, ideally a published piece on a tech topic intended for a broad audience. Those selected will be contacted with next steps.

We will be reviewing and contacting applicants about next steps. If you seem like a good fit for the project, we’ll pay you to complete a brief test as part of the application process. If you pass our initial test, we will move you on to a 2-week trial contract that will allow us to get to know your work, and give you the opportunity to decide whether this role is right for you.

Please note: We’re a small team processing a high volume of applications. While we do review every application, we unfortunately can’t guarantee a response to every applicant. We are very grateful for your time and interest in wikiHow!
