wikiHow is seeking a talented, ambitious, college-educated writer to help us create engaging instructional content in the technology, digital apps, and tech world. As a remote, part-time writer for wikiHow, you will work with our team to create immersive, impactful learning experiences about up and coming technology. You’ll collaborate with a Project Manager to develop new styles of educational content that go beyond traditional “How-to” guides.
If you’re a tech-forward thinker, skilled writer and a motivated self-starter, this might be the position for you! This remote position is for a part-time 20-hour work week during regular business hours. Though the work is remote, we will always support your writing with thoughtful review and individual help as needed.
To apply, please reply to this post with a brief introductory email with the subject line “Tech Writer” In your cover letter, tell us why you think you are the best person for this position. Please also let us know what devices you can use when writing and testing articles (phones, computers, tablets, gaming consoles, etc.). Your writing sample should showcase work that you’re proud of, ideally a published piece on a tech topic intended for a broad audience. Those selected will be contacted with next steps.
We will be reviewing and contacting applicants about next steps. If you seem like a good fit for the project, we’ll pay you to complete a brief test as part of the application process. If you pass our initial test, we will move you on to a 2-week trial contract that will allow us to get to know your work, and give you the opportunity to decide whether this role is right for you.
Please note: We’re a small team processing a high volume of applications. While we do review every application, we unfortunately can’t guarantee a response to every applicant. We are very grateful for your time and interest in wikiHow!
