An Auto Detailer is responsible for cleaning, restoring, and finishing vehicles to maintain their appearance and value. This includes both interior and exterior detailing using specialized tools and products.
Key Responsibilities
Wash, wax, and polish vehicle exteriors
Clean and vacuum interiors (seats, carpets, mats, trunk)
Shampoo upholstery and remove stains
Clean and condition leather, vinyl, and plastic surfaces
Apply protective coatings (wax, sealants, ceramic coatings)
Clean windows, mirrors, and tires
Inspect vehicles for imperfections (scratches, swirl marks)
Perform minor paint correction and buffing
Maintain cleanliness of workspace and equipment
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required)
Experience in auto detailing or car washing (entry-level accepted)
Knowledge of detailing tools, chemicals, and techniques
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently and independently
Physical stamina (standing, bending, lifting)
Valid driver’s license (often required)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with polishing machines and paint correction
Knowledge of ceramic coatings or advanced detailing techniques
Customer service experience
