Desperately Seeking Keyboards

Guys, Roy Bittan, Danny Federici, David Sancious, Charles Giordano, Dr. John, Benmont Tench, Scott Thurston, Billy Preston, Stevie Wonder, Reese Wynans, Gregg Allman, Richard Wright.....did these gentlemen influence you????

Ladies, Carole King, Norah Jones, Christine McVie, Alicia Keys, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell or Linda McCartney....did these great women influence you????

Perhaps you loved Liberace and want to play with a candelabra on your piano/keys and do it with flair????

Well, then we are the band for you!!!!

American Religion is seeking a keyboardist/vocalist. Our preference is a female to add that dynamic and element to what we already have and we want to set ourselves apart from other bands in the area, but we are not opposed to a guy, if they are the right fit.

We are based in Deptford, NJ, and mainly rehearse on Friday nights. Sometimes, we will also rehearse in Sicklerville, NJ at one of our guitarist's house.

We blend Americana with Southern Funk, Southern Rock, Heartland Rock, Blues Rock, Power Pop and straight up Rock & Roll. We rehearse weekly (as much as possible) and on Friday nights from 7-10. We are also an original band (happy to send some Google Drive MP3's of stuff we are doing).

Our current lineup includes the following:

Vocalist/Guitarist-F (late 40's)
Guitarist/Vocalist-M (mid-50's)
Guitarist/Vocalist-M (early-50's)
Bassist/Vocalist-M (mid 50's)
Drummer/Vocalist-M (early 50's)

Our goals are to play gigs at the venues that cater to original music more than they cater to cover bands. Not that we are against covers, but we would rather fail doing our own music than being just another cover band that cycles through the same 50 songs as everyone else. After all, didn't we get into music to be creative? We also want to be considered the local act to hire for national acts coming through looking for a viable opener.

Upfront honesty and clarity: We do all lean left of center, politically speaking, and we have written and are always writing potential songs about the things we see in the world, whether it is good, bad or ugly (art imitates life) and we prefer that someone that can handle that mentality or at least handle with maturity. We do also write other material that is about other stuff (love, life, happiness, etc....)
