Selling my unbranded Firebird guitar. Not really an official "Chibson" because it's not a counterfeit guitar. If you want to try and convince your friends that you have a Gibson, this won't really work because as you will be able to see in the pictures, the specs are different, the headstock is clearly a different shape.
I bought this on eBay probably 9 or10 years ago. It was just a husk at the time. I put an Epiphone bridge on it and then, even though it was routed out for standard sized humbuckers, I decided to load it with a pair of GFS (Guitar Fetish) Mini Birds- Covered Mini Humbuckers. The output is 8.6K for the Bridge and 7.6K for the neck.
The pickups are what they call Kwikplug compatible (they plug in using a 1/8 jack rather than solder) and so I also used one of their Les Paul pre-soldered Kwikplug wiring kits. If you want to swap them out to a pair of GFS kwikplug humbuckers it would take just a few minutes to unplug these and plug new ones in, nice and simple. If you have a different pair of humbuckers you want to use, guitar fetish also sells the little kwickplug adapters that can be added to any type of pickups. They're just a few dollars and I have used them on other guitar projects that I have.
Some of the grain of the wood is darker in some areas and shows through the semi-transparent firebird red finish. I kind of like it. Gives it a bit more character.
Has a few minor blemishes that I have tried to show in the pictures, otherwise it is still in excellent condition. I am only selling it because it doesn't get much play because it weighs in at a whopping 8.5-lbs and I have a bad back and can't really support this beast.
I'm asking $450 for the guitar as is
If you want just the husk and for me to pull the pickups and wiring I'd sell it for $350
I'm open to trades and/or cash & trade. Not sure what specifically I would be looking for, so don't get offended if I turn down your offer. I have been trying to increase my pedal collection lately for things that are at least half-way decent but not those big cumbersome multi-effects units.
