Up for sale here we have a vintage, American- made Kohler 'Magnum' engine, with horizontal drive shaft, built in fuel tank and this one has a pull start, will usually starts on second pull and is an extremely well made cast iron engine and a real commercial beast. Has a 3.5” keyed drive shaft, approximately 1.125” diameter, very good condition, the perfect engine to repower something that requires a lot of torque like a power washer, log splitter, tiller or garden tractor, like a Wheel Horse. The smaller imported aluminum block OHC engines from China may advertise a higher HP rating (at a higer rpm) but they are really are junk compared to this unit and don't have nearly the same amount of torque nor do they have the same cast iron construction, especially around the drive shaft, and tend to 'burn up' very easily under heavy loading. Parts for this engine are still available from Kohler and can also readily be found on e-Bay. New 'old stock' units in a crate sell for around $1,800 and this one is in really beautiful shape. Local cash pick-up only, you load in your SUV, truck or van, I believe this unit weighs in excess of 100 lbs. Thx.
