Red Wiggler Composting Worms and Vermicomposting System!
It works like this: Rather than adding to the local landfill with your kitchen scraps, you add them to the worm bin where red wiggler worms (Eisenia fetida) consume them. Consuming about half their weight per day in scraps and doubling their numbers ever few months, the worms leave behind a highly sought after soil amendment called worm castings. Ask around your local nursery and you'll see that worm castings are highly valuable!
Additionally, a compost tea can be made to further add nutrients to your garden AND, once your colony reaches sufficient numbers, excess worms can be sold as well! All this in exchange for your trash!
Just feed appropriately, keep them in a dark place (under the sink is perfect for this size system), and keep them between 40-80 degrees and watch the odor-free composting begin!
I am asking for $30 per pound for the worms, which is roughly 1000 individuals.
The 3 gallon worm- powered composting system is a great way to turn your trash into rich plant fertilizer (aka Black Gold)!
The kit contains a main composting bin (10" x 16" x 7"), drainage container (which allows excess moisture to drain off), roughly 250-300 red wiggler worms, some finished compost and starter worm bedding. I am asking $35 for the kit.
