I am in the process of downsizing and have a complete highest end system that has few hours on it since purchase in early 90s. I am giving the specifications on the pre-amplifier (CX-2000) and the amplifier (MX2000) and listing the other components below. I paid more than $10,000 for the system (without the KEF speakers which are listed separate). Was listed for $5000 and reduced to $3800 for whole system w/o speakers. Willing to sell amp and pre-amp separately for $2900
Everything is MINT condition in original boxes with manuals. Please note they are not connected for operation but packed for transfer. Recently had a potential buyer bring his connectors and thoroughly test the amp & pre-amp to his sound source - all worked excellent!

Stereo Main Amplifier MX2000
This amp is beautiful. Many hold this amp as their "holy grail" of audio amplification. Sound is smooth and very detailed, with an enormous 3D soundstage. Beautiful to listen to, and even to look at. The MX-2000 is the audiophile's choice at the time.
Beautiful power amplifier from Yamaha. The MX-2000 was part of their Centenial Edition in 1988. The rare Mx-2000 is a scaled down version of the legendary MX-10000 ($11000 when new). Large Power meters, stainless steel "box" and wood sides. The MX-2000 is a very serious amp - almost a work of art, and was available by special order only. ($4000.00 when new)
It puts out 130 watts into 8 ohms, but those are some very refined watts.
It's heavy at 62 pounds, pure class A MOSFET design, and all hand-made solid construction w/titanium-cherry finish.

Made in England, the model 104/2 -- a loudspeaker was innovated and produced to develop a strong reputation around the world for its technical innovation and acoustic performance. Such was its success that it remained in production for over ten years. Cabinets are a piece of furniture.
Model 104/2 is high output, high sensitivity speaker system possessing exceptional dynamic capability, able to reproduce a very wide dynamic range at high output levels. The optional KEF KUBE equaliser was available to extend the low frequency response down to 20Hz (-6dB, Q=0.5). Technical features included chassis-less midrange units, conjugate load matching and the twin coupled cavity bass reproduction system. A bi-wired version was introduced in 1990 and it was later included in the Raymond Cooke Series along with the Reference Series Models 107/2 and LS3/5A.
