You would be renting access to the shop, all my equipment and you will have about 250 square feet of personal space to set up your own work benches, tools and supplies. About 300 square of the shop space is common area with the equipment to be shared. I have a mammoth board shear, a guillotine, large book presses, a souped up Kwikprint stamper, dozens of gilding tools, clamps. boards, lying presses, sewing frame etc. The shop has been operating as a full book restoration studio for nearly 20 years. The shop is on the third floor with three large south facing windows.
I expect to be here only two or three days a week. You must be a non-smoker (not allowed in the building), have some personal and/or book binding references, be relatively quiet and basically a pleasant shop partner. I am all of the above, except pleasant.
The rent is $450 per month and includes all utilities and acess and use of all the equipment. The shop is air-conditioned and heated with a new split unit and that is also included. There is a sink and refrigerator in the shop space.
