Mascotte pressed glass pair of antique apothecary jars. These items are heirlooms from my Midwestern family roots. I'm not 100% certain, but there is a very good chance that these are from my grandmother's brother, my grand-uncle if you will, who was a family doctor in the early-to-mid 1900's in Quincy, Illinois.
There are identical offerings for sale online for substantially more. Note that one of the jars has a crack in it, and both of the lids show some cracks. The flawed jar is not flimsy by any means. The items are of sturdy glass, and the crack has no effect on it. Moreover, the decorative work is awesome.
These, and others for sale, are primarily for display. They are, after all, wonderful antiques. And the price reflects the flaws mentioned. The items are intriguing and attractive and will undoubtedly make a lovely display.
