It’s that time of year! Thanksgiving, Eid-Ul-Adha, Chanukah, Al-Hijira, Christmas, Kwanza, Ashura—the holidays are coming!! The Bilingual Domestic Violence Program at Lutheran Settlement House is gearing up for the holiday season and we need your help! Residents of the Sheila Brown Women’s Center, a transitional housing program for women & children affected by domestic violence are hit especially hard emotionally & financially during the holiday season. We at the BDVP strive to make their holiday season as joyous as possible, but we cannot do so without your help!

As you’re preparing for the holidays, please keep our Sheila Brown residents in mind & consider donating the following items:

Gift Cards—Help empower moms by donating a gift card from Target, Wal-Mart, etc! Consider grabbing a few at the cash register!

­ Movie/Museum/Other Event tickets—The BDVP sponsors several “trips” for Sheila Brown residents & families throughout the holidays. Help support a fun activity for mom’s and kids this year!

­ Toys—Do you have an old game consol that never gets used? Does your son or daughter have an old bike that they grew out of? Sheila Brown residents aged 12-18 are in need of holiday gifts!

­ Household Items—The BDVP is continually seeking household items such as furniture, lamps, kitchenware, bedding & other necessary living items.
