Position Overview:

The Translations Specialist facilitates the delivery of translations deliverables including text translations, subtitling, voiceover, and linguistically validated translations for assigned data quality projects. He/she may also assume oversight of select projects as assigned.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
• Execute translation and production requirements for subtitling, document translation and voice-over projects, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality standards
• Assist in recruiting translators on an as needed basis
• Track invoices from freelance translators and vendors
• Manage inter-rater reliability projects with freelance translators
• Coordinate and communicate with translation vendors regarding project status and logistics
• Coordinate the Clinical Resource review of required translations
• Track designated projects and communicate with translators to ensure all languages and deliverables are addressed
• Perform QC activities (document formatting, back-translation review, etc.) for assigned translation projects
• Input translation information into proprietary scale information repository
• Work with Translations Manager to develop and implement processes for projects
• Provide on-site assistance at relevant conferences and project meetings, as needed
• Prepare weekly project status reports including weekly/monthly metrics for manager and department reporting
• Assist in creating reports for Linguistic Validation Projects
• Assist in creation of translator database and manage data


Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, Experience):
• Excellent organizational skills; at least two years administrative experience preferred
• Foreign Language proficiency a plus
• Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once in deadline-sensitive environment
• Great communication and writing skills, customer service oriented
