Ok lads and lassies…… Perhaps another feather ruffler but c'est la vie... So it seems this site has developed from a right wingnut hate fest 2009 into something more worthwhile and then devolved into some kind of soap opera…. Honestly I'd like to see something amazing happen here in Philadelphia. Politically, it wouldn't be the first time!... Can we get past this stuff?... You’re really two posters .. oh yeah? Well you’re twelve… you suck!... you blow!... Come on folks may we please? And I do mean WE…. We’re all citizens… well hopefully anyway…. So we have a few personalities on here who give enough of a damn to post their thoughts on POLITICS… maybe sometimes it gets a tad philosophical but that’s at the root of things sometimes too. So is much of the banter juvenile or infantile?... Is it even worth addressing or may we ditch it please?…… Sure as hell, derogatory remarks about each other accomplish little beyond more derogatory remarks in return. I say transcend the idiotic contest. Maybe I do lean a tad “left” in my beliefs but that didn’t stop me from meeting Mr. TLS (who seems to lean a tad right) in person for a visit and chat.

It might not seem like a lot or someone might have some trash to say about it but it took guts for both of us. We might disagree about a lot but I found him to be a truly decent guy and an AMERICAN just like me and you folks too…. I kind of agree with some of those folks who say (paraphrasing) just forget it!... write yourself in for the vote because they’re all corrupt. I say “kind of” because that seems futile and a “third party” only seems to split the vote one way or the other. Castrate the private media (read MONEY MONEY MONEY say anything for a buck) first perhaps. I feel that our entire system is sick and what we can do to help fix it is incremental at best. I once thought that “you have to join them in order to beat them” but Orwell’s notion that “power corrupts” has basically been demonstrated by all of our politicians for decades.

So that’s the crux of my appeal to y’all. It may sound a little Rodney Kingish but I feel like we as citizens could accomplish more worthwhile things if we “got along”. I’m interested in any ideas that folks might have to CIRCUMVENT the bull crap. I feel like the media is a tool of the pigs these days and a decent place to start. Only easy to boycott. Be it the utter abomination and falsifying of the word "news" by Rupert Murdock or the pandering of MSNBC if you'd rather, I PRAY that we're not that "dumbed down". Sure there are conspiracies and complacent fools who let ourselves be manipulated by the conspirators. How about if we friggin’ do something about it?... As I’ve said, my feeling is that we are complicit in all too much of what we complain about. I say “we” generously. No offense but the best movie ever filmed goes beyond tedious to downright stupid if we’re subjected to it incessantly. How many re-runs can a person stomach? Songwise, “Stairway to Heaven” might be a case in point. It’s truly a pretty great song and fun to play yet it’s message is dulled to the sharpness of a friggin' bowling ball by repetition… Just a thought that we all might ponder. Some moreso than others.

Speaking of mindless repetition and the effects of hypnosis, it should come as no newsflash that our great nation is not “Christian”. Thankfully it sure as hell isn’t Islamic or anything else either. The founders of our country were very careful to keep churches out of our politics. ‘Course many of our ancestors stole the land from indigenous peoples while they were committing genocide and “converting” them but we conveniently seem to forget that fact. Personally, I have no problem saying “under God” during the pledge or seeing the ten commandments displayed in public places although I think it’s not what Christ had in mind that it says God on our money. So pray to your heart’s content folks but keep it the hell out of politics at least in our country. Hope to hear some ideas on defanging the exploiters of “WE THE PEOPLE” both (demoCRAP and rePIGlican) flavors. The garbage they SELL us is unrecognizable as their core philosophies. It's up to us to quit buying the crap.
