Cassie is approximately 3-4 yrs old and weighs 53 lbs. She came here as a stray along with her two pups that were already adopted. Cassie has been a WONDERFUL MOM to these cute pups. Now, it is Cassie's TURN to find a loving family for herself!
She is a little shy at times but once she opens up, she is very friendly and sweet!! Cassie likes to play and gets along with some dogs. She is afraid of cats (so no cats for Cassie, please). She needs some leash-work. We recommend kids of age 9 & up. Please give this lady a chance to become a perfect family pet!!

He is non-aggressive in every way. He gets along with everyone, including children, other dogs, cats, etc. He is house broken, but may have an accident if he is locked into a room without his human companion, or if left home alone too long. He is non-destructive, but may get into the trash when no one is looking if a smelly bone or meat is in there. He has a great sniffer. He does not do well being left crated for extended periods.
I am hoping to find a very kind person who would be able to let him hang out at your home during the day from Monday to Friday. I would drop him off around 8 and pick him up around 6. I may be able to pay a nominal fee if necessary. But I’m hoping to find a wonderful dog lover who wouldn’t mind having him around.

1-Baby Bear - I named her this because she reminds me of a little bear. She is an adorable little tortoiseshell kitty and loves to be loved. She will purr like crazy even when she is just laying next to you and looking at you. Such a sweetie!!! She is a little more michevious than Zena and is definitely the leader of the two.
2-Zena - she is an absolutely gorgeous gray and brown tabby. She is such a little more laid back than Baby Bear but still is very affectionate!
They have already been treated with Revolution, which treats fleas and is also a de-wormer. They are schedule to be fixed and to get their rabies and distemper shots on November 18th, so after that they will be ready to go to their forever home. Their is an adoption fee of $50 for each kitty, which goes towards the cost of their vetting. An application will also be required. Vet refernces are a definite plus and priority will go to applicants interested in both kitties.
If you're not ready to adopt please consider fostering Barbie or one of our other deserving dogs. I promise it will be one of the most rewarding experiences saving a homeless dog and watching them find a loving family.

Please call or email the Life Saving Department to set up a time to come down to the ACCT facility (111 W Hunting Park Ave). Life Saving staff is any day (the sooner the better!) 9am- 6pm to fill out an application and meet the many wonderful dogs in need of foster care and adoption. If you have dogs of your own, you need to bring at least one in to meet any potential dogs and make sure there is no major personality clash. Please also bring proof that you are allowed dogs at your home if you rent.
To determine whether you should apply to foster versus adopt, please consider the following information:
-To adopt a dog means to commit to being the primary caregiver for the dog and keep it in your possession, for yourself for the rest of its life. Adult dogs are $75 to adopt, puppies (under 6 months old) are $125- that donation covers the vaccines, microchip, surgery, etc that the dog has received.
- To foster a dog means to commit to temporarily caring for the dog while also working to find the dog a “forever home”/adopter. While fostering the dog remains ACCT’s property, but the foster parent takes responsibility for marketing the dog, and doing a preliminary screening of any potential adopters. When an adopter is found, the foster parent must coordinate with the ACCT Life Saving office to approve the adopter and finalize the adoption. If the foster parent decides after time that they would like to keep the dog, they must complete the adoption process and pay the adoption fee. ** Fostering is not a trial adoption.**

Although previous fostering experience is not required, ideal foster care provider will have basic knowledge of animal care and training and be committed to finding their foster animal a safe and loving “forever home”. As a foster care provider, you will provide the animals with care including, food, water, shelter, training, grooming and medical treatment when necessary. The PSPCA will provide clinic and vet care, behavior and training resources, and adoption counseling. We rely on the foster parent to find an adoptive home for the dog, but we can help! We provide adoption events for you attend, can post your foster dog on Petfinder for you, etc. We cannot guarantee how long a foster dog will be in your care, since you keep the dog until an adoptive home is found, which can be anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months depending on the dog, and how heavily you market it.

Who We Are
The ACCT Foster Program is one of the many life saving arms of the PSPCA. The
primary reason for foster care is to provide a temporary home for a potentially adoptable animal whose current condition is not manageable in a shelter setting. PSPCA ACCT receives more dogs than there is space, and so moving dogs and cats into foster homes not only saves them, but also the dog or cat who gets their old cage space.

Tito
Tito (A09025634) is a 6-12 month old Terrier mix that was picked up as a stray. This goofy looking little guy is friendly and playful but he has typical puppy mannerisms that would make him best suited to a home with older children. He will also need basic obedience training. Tito is undersocialized with other dogs. If you are looking for a cuddly, happy pup to keep you company and be a play buddy, come meet Tito! Photos at:
Carl
Carl (A08964899) is a beautiful boy looking for a new home. He is a pit/terrier mix about 6-12 months old. He was brought in as a stray in mid-October. Carl is very soft but don’t let that fool you, he has a ton of energy and is ready to play. He loves to play with other dogs and he will need some leash training. Carl is a love bug and with the right home will do well.
Boomer
Boomer (A08980792) is a big, strong handsome guy. He is still only a puppy at about 6-12 months old. Boomer will need someone who is willing to spend time training him and giving him lots of exercise. He was great with body handling and seemed interested in other dogs. He wanted to play with them. Boomer was turned into the shelter as an owner surrender. They didn’t have enough money to care for him. Come give Boomer the home he deserves.
Babe
Babe (A08990463) Babe is an already spayed 6-12 month old pit mix who loves to play. She is a well-behaved girl with a nice personality. Babe seems to like other dogs and is a wiggly sweetie pie. Babe is good with body handling. Photos at:
Yager
Yager is a 6 month old pit mix puppy. He loves to play and goof around. Puppies get into a lot of trouble and Yager is no exception. He likes to prance around with whatever he finds lying on the ground in his mouth to show it off to everyone. This sweet little guy seems to like other dogs and is ready for a home to where he can pick up some manners and new lease on life. Help this cute little pup out today!
Jumper
Jumper (A08855065) is a male Hound- pit bull mix, less than one year old, with giant paws and lots of energy. He calmed down nicely and was trying to get as many hugs as possible. Jumper was excellent with all body handling and likes other dogs. Jumper is a lovely dog that needs a family who will give him kisses and play time! Photos at:
Miz- URGENT
Miz (A07723129) is a strikingly handsome 9-12 month old light brindle male Pit mix. Poor Miz came into the shelter in May as a stray and still hasn’t gained all the weight he needs to because he’s in a stressful kennel environment! Miz is a playful, athletic, rambunctious boy who desperately needs a home where he can release all his energy and channel it into positive learning. After just a few minutes out of his confining kennel MIz is a different dog and justa few minutes of playing calms him down tremendously. Miz is a smart dog that since arriving at the shelter has already learned “Sit”. He is very handsome with his golden eyes and will steal your heart! He is unsocialized with other dogs- he desperately wants to play but all he knows how to do is jump on them, so he will not be a dog park dog, but could learn to live with a smart dog that can teach him the way of good dog behavior! Kev
Kev (A07740386) is a really cute and wiggly rust brindle and white 9-12 month old Pit mix. He is good with all types of body handling and being pinched and poked- in fact, he loves being tickled and runs around like a goof if he thinks you want to play! Kev could stand to use an owner with experience with high energy training as Kev still needs to learn leash manners as well as some standard behavioral training. Until Kev has passed his training lessons it is recommended that he go to a home with no small children. Kev seems to like other dogs! Photos at:
Scrap- URGENT
Scrap (A08211247) is an adorable 6-12 month female small Shepherd- Pit mix. Poor Scrap was surrendered to the shelter because her owners could no longer care for here, and it shows! She is underweight and her coat is in poor health. Scrap’s high puppy energy would benefit from training classes and an active home. Also due to her high playful puppy energy, she would be better suited for a home with no small children. Scrap seems to like other dogs but needs to learn some manners, and Scrap can learn to live with cats (she’s interested and just needs to learn boundaries!). Photos at:

Baby Kitty is a year and a half old female cat, she is spayed and up to date with all of her shots. She is the complete oppisite of Mikey, she is a total lap cat. Shes very sweet and loving. She apparently had her four kittens in this family's garage. Not sure of the sex of the kittens, but three of them are grey striped tabby's and the other one is all orange/tabby. All very cute and scared! With some time and love these guys are sure to find a loving home!

The ACCT shelter has many litters of kittens that need foster care ASAP, as they cannot stay at the shelter! Volunteer foster parents are crucial to the survival of our young kittens, as foster care provides a safe place for the animals to recover and find good adoptive homes, and frees up much needed space at the shelter for other needy animals. “Kitten season” is now in full swing, and ACCT receives numerous kittens too young to be adopted out yet that need foster care until they are old enough for spay/neuter surgery. We desperately need foster homes for these young kittens without mothers who are eating on their own. We also need foster homes for momma cats with young nursing kittens, and for orphaned newborns that need to be bottle fed and sick cats and kittens. If you have a spare room in your house please consider helping us to get these adorable babies out – They won’t make it without you!!

What does Foster Care entail?
What is the time commitment?
Kittens must be fostered until they are able to be spayed/neutered and adopted out, which is generally around 9-10 weeks old (when they are at least 2 pounds). So if you have newborns, the foster commitment is generally 9-10 weeks, if you get kittens a couple weeks old, the commitment would be shorter. Once they are old enough for surgery you set up an appointment to bring them in. Once altered, you can find adopters for them yourself (marketing kittens is easy, and we can help!)
What do foster parents need to provide?
Foster parents must provide shelter, food, litter and love until the cat/kittens can be adopted out.
What does ACCT provide?
ACCT will provide all vet care and medicine needed at our facility, everyday 9am-6pm. The ACCT Life Saving Department will provide support and information on bottle-feeding, raising kittens, marketing animals for adoption, etc.
