MEET WANDA!

Meet Wanda (15048264)! This beautiful, affectionate girl is an ~6-8 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Staffordshire Terrier mix who was brought to the Philadelphia Animal Control shelter as a stray in mid-January. She has the most uniquely colored coat, which looks a bit like cookies and cream ice cream and draws attention from everyone she meets. Unfortunately, no one has stepped up to foster or adopt her yet! Wanda did well in her behavior evaluation; she loved being petted and had no issues with basic or advanced handling. She was a little hesitant of giving up her food, but we're not sure of when her last meal was when she first came to the shelter and she takes treats very gently. She already knows basic commands like "sit" and appears to be housebroken! Wanda showed no interest in the cats here at the shelter, but was a distracted by the smell of yummy cat food so she should have another test before being placed with them. Wanda met several dogs here at the shelter and while she is friendly, she can be a little pushy in her interactions and would prefer the company of a lower-energy dog like herself rather than a rambunctious pup, as her rumble-tumble days of playing are likely over. Please bring your resident dogs down to meet her to make sure its a good match. Families with children under 8 should bring them down to meet her as well! Wanda is currently living at the Philadelphia Animal Control shelter (ACCT) at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19140. She is in need of a foster or adoptive home. Her adoption fee is $50 which includes her spay surgery, vaccinations which she is up-to-date on and her microchip. Interested in meeting her?
