When a guy says he's not looking for anyone it generally doesn't mean what it actually sounds like. It means that he's not willing to jump on "just anyone" any more. And I say that from having said it, and knowing that I'm still always looking I'm just not acting on it. And it can be for any number of reasons, sick of dating, tired of getting hurt, re-adjusting the list of what he thinks he needs from a woman to make it work, the list could keep on going.

The thing is being that scared of your feelings towards him isn't going to get you anywhere further with him than you already are. And chances are if he's not opening up in that way it's either because he can tell your scared or he's just as scared or even potentially also that your so special to him he doesn't want to risk it with out knowing it will work out for the best and that its wanted. One of you at some point though if either of you wants it enough to try to make it happen then one of you has to bite the bullet and open up the subject to find out if both of you match up well enough to make it work. Chances are though since guys aren't normally as good as sharing information like that, that he's the one not volunteering any of that info and that's probably feeding into your fear even if you are sharing your side of it. Generally when dealing with guys if you want to know you have to be the one ask if you actually want to know what they want, need, or are feeling. I mean really a typical guy though after finding out someone he's interested in has a similar need or want as far as relationships go is, I do all of that or that's so not me rather then let me share something about me now. Guy's on the other hand generally need to be encouraged to share which means asking them rather then expecting them to just provide the information after telling them what you want. It's so complicated right.

Even after saying all that though if you know it can't work for you right now why even worry about it. Those are words that are pretty clear and really make it really sound like you already know it just isn't a feasible possibility at the moment for what ever reason.
