I start school again November 23rd so from now until then I'm available any day at anytime but when I start school I would be available Monday-Thursday anytime before 6-6:30pm (depending on far away from school you live) and Friday-Sunday anytime.

Hi there. I am a four year nanny who started very young with my first family, looking for a long-term situation in the Philadelphia area that starts January 4th or later. I cannot start before January 4th, as the January 1-3 area is when I go to get my car for moving purposes.

A little about me: I'm born and raised in NYC, regular two parent working middle class family who did it all, sports, vacations, everything a child loves. My first childcare jobs were all in NYC, and I'm moving to Philadelphia to be with friends and for the lower cost-of-living. I've been to Philadelphia several times and am quite familiar with the city itself. I am not as familiar with the suburbs, but I will have a car and a GPS and it will be absolutely no problem.

I do drive, as I mentioned, and my record is spotless in the three years I have been a driver. I have a long-term, full-time reference with one toddler, as well as a shorter term reference with a pair of twins. I have worked with children as young as 20 months old, and I am 100% comfortable with newborns, though if I could choose, I would probably start at one year old and up. I have also worked with teenagers, and I've done a great deal of volunteer work tutoring and helping underprivileged families. This is my life, along with my love of other cultures and my private studies, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I offer a 2-5 year commitment, absolute minimum of one year. I am fine being paid off the books, but I am perfectly legal and I have a passport if travel becomes necessary. I am a teacher and a learner, and I resonate best with families that encourage this. I work with parents to develop plans we both enjoy, because as hard as this job is, it is supposed to be fun.

I also have experience blending baby food and cooking for children to teenagers. Parents as well, possibly. I cook healthy and hearty, whichever you prefer.

I am an advice giver and taker, because no parent or nanny knows it all, and I would prefer someone open to both as well.

My rate is a flat $550 a week for up to 50 hours, and for a nanny share, I charge each family $350 a week. This rate doesn't change no matter how many children I am watching, and includes pick-up of toys, all baby cleaning, cooking and kitchen clean-up afterward. I believe I am worth what I charge, and your children are also just as worth it.

As the saying goes "there is a reason for everything." There has to be a reason why the nanny accepted employment with you, then never returned your calls and left you hanging. I don't know what happened between you and her, but there is two sides to every story. Plus, parents on here often leave us nannies hanging too. After you all request a whole composition of information from us ie: our resume, references, how much pay we seeking, what's our availability and other crap. Then after we send you parents our info you "never email or call us back." I remember about 4 different parents promised to hire me in the past few months, only to call them when time for me to start and they didn't answer their phones. I know for a fact it wasn't my fault. Hello! My name is Renee and I am a 24 year old nanny for 2 fantastic families. One of my little cuties is 21 months old and lives in Bala Cynwyd; I care for him 3 days per week and have been with him since he was 10 months old. The other child I watch is an adorable 15 month old little boy in Abington; I have been with him on Mondays and Fridays, only for the past few weeks.

My Bala Cynwyd charge and I have been very active during the day on a regular basis (story times, gymboree, museums, playgrounds, playdates...) and I see what a positive impact it has had on him developmentally to establish social relationships with other children (he even has a best friend, and I met his friends' nanny through craigslist almost a year ago!)

I would like to see if I can find my new, Monday/Friday charge a little friend or two so that he can hopefully have a similar, positive experience! It is so incredibly helpful for children to be around other children before they start school; socially (for obvious reasons), mentally (I have seen first-hand how much children learn from eachother), and even physically (I truly believe it is best to get exposed to colds and such BEFORE entering a school environment.)
